The Driver Risk Inventory (DRI) has been an approved Illinois DUI offender test for several years. Nevertheless, to continue to be in full compliance with Illinois DUI laws, the DRI has been upgraded to the Illinois DRI-2. This upgrade includes the inclusion of the Illinois Mandatory Minimum DUI laws. In our opinion, any accurate Illinois DUI offender test must now incorporate these mandatory Minimum DUI laws to be in full compliance with Illinois DUI laws.
The Illinois Mandatory Minimum DUI laws have been included in the Illinois DRI-2 as a scale or domain to insure accurate DUI offender assessment. Other Illinois DRI-2 scales (domains) continue to include a Truthfulness Scale, Alcohol Scale, Drug Scale, Driver Risk Scale, DSM-5 Substance Use Disorder Classification and the Stress Management Scale. These scales will function as they have in the past, providing major ancillary or supplemental DUI offender information. An example Illinois DRI-2 report is provided on the link above. Another important and unique Illinois DRI-2 scale is the Truthfulness Scale. Above is a link to the Truthfulness discussion. Most, if not all, psychologists agree that a client’s truthfulness can significantly influence their test results. The Illinois DRI-2 has a Truthfulness Scale built-in. Without a Truthfulness Scale, how can an assessor determine whether-or-not the DUI offender was truthful?
The DRI-2 has been extensively researched (www.BDS-Research.com) and peer reviewed research demonstrates its impressive reliability, validity and accuracy. It was rated the best DUI offender test by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The DRI-2 has been administered to over 1.75 million DUI offenders. It is safe to say the DRI-2 is a respected, popular and widely used DUI offender assessment instrument or test.
The Illinois DRI-2 consists of 113 test items and takes on average 20 to 25 minutes to complete. It is available on diskettes, USB flash drives or over the internet (www.Online-Testing.com). Regardless of how the Illinois DRI-2 is administered, all Illinois DRI-2’s are computer scored within 2½ minutes of data (answers) entry. Three page Illinois DRI-2 reports are then available on-site. Illinois DRI-2 tests cost $6.00.
The Illinois Driver Risk Inventory-2 (DRI-2) report has been updated to insure full compliance with Illinois DUI offender laws, which include Illinois Mandatory Minimum DUI laws. To put the Illinois DRI-2 in perspective, some history is provided.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is the highest federal authority in the DUI/DWI field and they rated the Driver Risk Inventory (DRI) the best (DOT HS 807 475). And now, after years of additional research, the DRI has been improved (www.BDS-Research.com).
The Illinois DRI-2 is the only major DUI offender test that incorporates a Truthfulness Scale. That said, we know that most DUI offenders attempt to minimize or deny DUI-related questions. Check the above “Truthfulness Scale” link for a more complete discussion.
The Illinois DRI-2 is the only DUI offender test that incorporates the Illinois Mandatory Minimums DUI offender risk classification laws. Without including Illinois Mandatory Minimum Risk Classification laws, accurate Illinois DUI offender assessment may not be possible.
